ejtIMU- Shortening the learning curve towards inertial navigation

ejtIMU is an undergoing development for an Attitude and Heading Reference System.

Our main objective with this project is to develop a device, software and tutorials that shortens the learning curve to a minimum so that novices can become experts in a blink of an eye.

The idea stems from our experiments with Razor , Mongoose , and FreeIMU. We spent quite a while understanding and learning how to deal with these platforms. We want you to learn faster than we did.

We hope to stand on the sholders of  Fabio Varesano to develop ejtIMU under the following guidelines:
  • Inertial-Based , integrated low cost AHRS IMU system for motion sensing and orientation - MEMS based technology, the best algorithms available
  • Free Hardware , Free Software - ejtIMU shall be a platform for sharing knowledge and learning
  • Ready-to-play - we'll prepare the setup so that it's as straightforward as plug-and-play to use and learn. You'll be able to unpack it, plug it to your computer and start using it immediatly. You'll be able to get your quadcopter flying on this in a blink of an eye.
  • Access to all data - we'll prepare the interface so that you'll be able to access any data: raw, filtered, intermediate.
Regarding the hardware, we made a table of what felt we needed in the platform. Even before we started looking at code and algorithms, we had to get a power source, a USB FTDI. If ejtIMU was already developed, it would have saved us from some effort. .
